Calculation of Square Yard Prices
To calculate the exact quilting charge, you multiply width in inches by length in inches and divide by 1296. Multiply that result by the price listed above.
For example, to do a  simple allover on a queen size quilt that measures 90x108:

90" x 108" = 9720" square inches
9720 square inches / 1296 = 7.5 square yards
7.5 square yards x $18 = $135 for edge-to-edge freehand pattern customized for your quilt

Basting
For the hand and home machine quilter…. basting is approximately 4 inches apart across the quilt with stabilization for the edges.

Customized Allover Quilting
Free-hand all over edge-to-edge patterns. Custom designs are tailored to suite the quilt and the quilt top maker. If one of my existing designs won't work, I will gladly create new designs just for you.

Custom Quilting
Starting price for quilting services such as stitch in the ditch, set in borders, designs in blocks, outline and echo quilting, free-form meandering within the quilt blocks. A more complete quote will be provided.

 Sew About Quilting can complete your quilt preparation for an additional charge.

 Additional Services

Binding $0.15/linear inch
Cut, folded and machine sewn with mitered corners to front of the quilt, then hand sewn to the back. You must supply the fabric for the binding.

Pressing $15.00
Quilt top must be pressed and prepared with no basting, no pins and embellishments removed.

Backing $7.00 per seam

Thread Charge $4.00 - $7.00

Thread is $4.00 per 1200 yd. spool.
Variegated is $7.00 per 1200 yd. spool.

I carry Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 and Warm & Natural 100% Cotton battings. Price and selection on hand varies depending on current market conditions. You are welcome to supply your own batting if you prefer another type or brand.
